Camp Shirt

Alex Mill, $85 | Save: Target, $12

At first glance, a camp collar shirt may seem like any other short sleeve button up shirt. But unlike the more common ocbds originating in Europe that you're used to, the camp collar came to the US by way of South America.

Camp collars have a completely unstructured collar that lays flat and features an extra bit that gives the whole thing a look reminiscent of a notch lapel suit jacket. An interesting dichotomy, considering camp collar shirts are some of the most casual of the button up shirt options.

To avoid the bowling or aloha look, look for options offered by brands that focus on modern fits. A camp shirt is looser fitting by design, but you still want to avoid the Guy Fieri aesthetic. Stick to solids or minimal stripes with a vintage vibe.
