Love this series! I actually picked up that exact shirt yesterday and a pair of Bostonians that look exactly like the Florsheims earlier today. Been re-upping my style for a new job and its great to see I’m on the right path.
By the way, I found the shirt at Nordstrom Rack for about $25.00 for those who have that option. Seemed like they had a lot of them in varying sizes and fits.
Please keep this series up!
Cheers!

Andrew,
That outfit is tops. No tie? I guess that keeps it casual-er. Any tips on a tie or two that would go well with this?

Rick,
That’s awesome! Thanks for the Nordstrom Rack tip.

Edward,
You could go a couple of different ways if you wanted to wear a tie. Here are some options that would look great:
I’m still hung up on a past article where a binder clip was suggested as a “wallet”. This Saddleback Leather option is a great alternative to a clip. 😉
Nordstrom Rack is a GREAT store. Just prepare yourself to spend some time digging but it’s well worth it. I just scored a couple of casual shirts from there this weekend.
Oh and, this getup is well put together. Kinda reminds me that I need to get a Navy Blue suit…
Well done Primer! Thanks for the articles!

Andy, Love this series!! You should do it more often. In 2012, I am really focusing on dressing my best which means suit game, blazer and jeans, pocket squares, you get the drift.
My question to you is this 1) I badly want to buy this cotton blazer from Banana Republic to wear with my jeans, however, the 38S fits me snug, I can wear a T shirt comfortably but when I button up I find creases in the back between my arms However if I were to wear a dress shirt I would find the 38s too small. So should I settle for the 40S?
2) Also can I wear a Tux blazer with my jeans and T shirt, Could I throw in a pocket square? Thanks!
Nick
Another awesome getup. Keep it up Andy!

KM80,
Thanks glad you like it! Best of luck with your resolution this year.
For the blazer, don’t waste your money unless it definitely fits. You’ll regret buying the 38s if you can only wear it with t-shirts, unless it’s mad on sale for $20. How did the 38r fit? If the shoulders, length, and back fit, you can easily have the sleeves shortened. How big is the 40s?
As for the tux blazer, I’ve seen it done, but it’s an advanced maneuver. I’d opt for a regular 2 button blazer and go classic.

Nick,
Thanks so much, I’m happy you liked it!

@Andrew. Interesting. I would never have thought to go with a dotted tie. Thanks.

Also, would love to hear your opinion on ASOS and H&M. All their jackets, well most of them are within 100 bucks, do you have an opinion about their quality? thanks
Michael
Andrew, I love the Saddleback wallet sleeve, but 9 bucks for shipping seems a little much. Any idea of coupon codes/promos for free shipping?
