Prime Day has rolled around again, and it’s time to get strategic with your shopping. This event, kicking off at 12:01 a.m. PDT, stretches over the next 48 hours, giving you plenty of time to nail those necessary purchases without wading through the noise.
This year, shopping smart means pinpointing what you actually need. Think about those everyday essentials that always seem to run out at the worst times. Whether it's kitchen rolls, cleaning supplies, or those all-important trash bags, now is the time to stock up—smartly. Consumables you need but aren't fun to buy like Crest Whitestrips and Oral-B toothbrushes are up to 50% off; if you use 'em, now is when to stock up on 'em.
On the style front, it’s an excellent opportunity to refresh the basics without splurging. Look for deals on reliable brands like Levi’s and Dockers, and of course Amazon Essentials, and don’t forget about staples like underwear and socks. You're always going to need to replace them, might as well do it while they're on sale.
Tech is of course front and center during Prime Day but don't get glossy eyed by TVs. If you've been eyeing another Apple AirTag for your checked luggage, or expanding your Ring security setup, Prime Day is the smart time to buy. I'm constantly filling up SSDs with photo and videos, so I make use of the inevitable Prime Day discounts to stock up on more, even if it's not a storage emergency yet.
Big-ticket items are also in play. Eyeing a new robot vacuum or thinking about upgrading your tech with new headphones, a second monitor, or yes, even a new TV? Products from brands like Dyson and Sony see discounts up to 50%.
