Hanz de fuko quicksand review

Hanz de Fuko Quicksand Ultra-matte Finish Hair Wax

Amazon

If you have fine hair that is flat and lifeless when clean, Quicksand will give you the malleable control and volume you didn't think was possible without a ton of work. It's labeled as a wax but it's more of a paste, the secret ingredient being the inclusion of dry shampoo, which is what gives it the unique position-staying power without being crispy all while having a natural, non-shiny appearance.

Dove Men+Care Ashwanaga body wash

Dove Men+Care Ashwagandha + White Lavender Body Wash

Walmart

I've been a big fan of what Dove has been doing with their Men+Care line for a number of years. It mixes the daily grooming concerns of a modern guy – without the Mountain Dew-esque marketing and scents younger guys get – while also being readily available and affordable. At $8 and on shelves locally, the Ashwagandha + White Lavender body wash punches above its weight class with a premium-smelling scent that is masculine without being over the top, like a more subtle, modern Irish Spring.

brio electric toothbrush

Brio SmartClean Sonic Electric Toothbrush

Brio / Amazon

How's this for a testament: When my electric toothbrush from Brio died after five or so years, I immediately went on Amazon and ordered another one without reservation.

It features 3 brush modes that leave my teeth feeling noticeably smoother. Plus, no need to keep the thing plugged in on the counter all the time – the battery lasts weeks on a single charge. (I charge it so infrequently I would guess it's a few times per year.) I was given a Quip a few years ago and while it's half the price of the Brio and has a smaller design, there is just zero comparison with how solid the Brio is and the perception of how clean my teeth are when I'm done.  How does it compare to a Sonicare? I couldn't tell you because after using it I haven't had any need to keep testing other electric toothbrushes.

Listerine Flosser

Listerine UltraClean Flosser

Amazon / Walmart

For most of my life, flossing has been a lot like drinking water: I know I'm supposed to do it a lot more than I do, I just can't get myself to do it. I first started using this flosser, which is about toothbrush-sized with one-time-use click in heads, probably six years ago. It makes reaching between every tooth simple without intricate maneuvering, and can easily be done while watching TV or some other distraction. It's so effortless in fact, sometimes late at night when I'm tired and getting ready for bed I'll see it and think, “Let me just get a quick floss in.” 🤯 The only downside is, I'd say, the floss in maybe 1 in 40 heads comes undone with too much pressure, but outside of that I'm able to push and pull with quite a bit of force getting between close teeth.
