Primer’s Annual Gift Guide for Guys

gift guide for guys

The older we get the harder it is to create a gift wish list. It’s not because we stop yearning for toys, it’s that anything we want in the normal gift-giving price range, we’ve probably already bought for ourselves. So Primer is tasked with one simple goal: What are some cool things we’d like to have, but don’t want to pay for? What follows are gadgets, essentials, and upgrades that’ll still give you that Red Ryder BB Gun smile come Christmas morn.

Our biggest and most interactive gift guide ever.

What is Primer Approved?
On some of the gift ideas there’s a small “Primer Approved” badge. This is a classification for some of the products I’ve tested hands-on and feel they’re worth the money. Companies can’t pay for this distinction: The product we used must have met both the advertised promises and our expectations.

Great guide (I’ll be sending to my fiance), but that Target sheet set is terrible. Better to go to the source: http://linensource.blair.com/p/sheets/sheet-sets/wentworth-800-thread-count-sheet-set/pc/495/sc/3838/71736.uts. Plus you get 20% off with code LN2.

Great list! I think you should make a guide for women too. It would be really helpful to pick gifts for the women in our lives.

Andrew, great list, but unless they have opened shop in the US, your “American-made Folding Knife” from Opinel is made in France. It’s a great knife, just not American.

Instead of the generic flash kit sold by Amazon, I would suggest the Yongnuo 530 mkII or mkiii. It is a cheaper and more reliable flash also sold on amazon.

Buying gifts for men is easy, just have something you want shipped to your dad’s house instead.

I need one of these for women that I’m related to.

I like the corkcicle whisky wedge! I’m going to get that for my husband. He’s also growing a beard and I am going to get him some unscented beard oil for sensitive skin at http://lumberjacksbeardoil.com/
