Hardest part of improving your style game? Shopping around and finding the stuff. That's why we've done the heavy lifting and rounded up our favorite fresh styles to give you a head start in the new year.
Ray-Ban Hexagonal Sunglasses
Most sunglasses, regardless of designer or manufacturer, are all just riffs on like, 5 styles. It's not very often that sunglasses come out in a unique shape that aren't showy, but I'm really digging these hexagonal shades from Ray-Ban that are part tear-drop aviator, part square-frame aviator.
Clark's Lorwin Mali Boots
For the fashion-forward among us, these chunky boots from Clark's look like they cost 4 times as much.
Geometric Polar Fleece Jacket
I picked this geometric fleece up in December and everyone thought I got it on my year-end retreat in Joshua Tree. Nope, Amazon. For less than $20, this soft, comfortable fleece jacket in neutral earth tones still feels grounded despite its complex pattern. Since I got it, I've been seeing similar styles everywhere here in LA but at more premium retailers.
Built-In Flex Twill Mac Jacket
Don't think of a mac jacket as a short trench coat, think of it as a long Harrington. Brock from The Modest Man recently rocked one from Everlane while we were all hanging in Austin. It offers a clean, minimalist style.
Goodthreads Flannel Shirt Jacket
Shirt jackets serve a similar function as a hoodie or shawl collar cardigan but with more of a rugged edge to them. I love this one from Amazon's house line because of its large chest pockets and subtle herringbone texture make it look like it's from a brand like Taylor Stitch or Buck Mason.
Cable Knit Pullover Sweater
The cable knit fisherman's sweater is a classic masculine style, all the rage in recent months because of Chris Evans serious sweater game in Knives Out. This one is (surprisingly) made in America, something I don't come across very often for sweaters. I've been very happy with it.
Blackwatch Cotton Sweater
Can't recall seeing many plaid sweaters but this blackwatch tartan pullover would look sharp with selvedge denim and Red Wings or dressed up with trousers and wingtips for the office or another function.
Taylor Stitch Waxed Canvas Winslow Jacket
Wind and water-repellent thanks to its waxed canvas design, I love the look of a parka that isn't nylon-based. This is a great hooded alternative to my favorite waxed canvas trucker from Flint & Tinder. Nab it while it's on sale before the spring showers.
Astorflex Contflex Shoe
Handmade in Italy from European leather, this moc-toe chukka makes looking your best at work and being comfortable on your feet all day a breeze.
Filson Twill Tote Bag
Filson's briefcase has had legendary status within men's style communities since I started Primer in 2008. Their Twill Tote has a very similar design but is 4″ wider. A nice option if you've got to carry a lot.
Hamilton Pilot Pioneer Quartz Watch
Hamilton watches have a long history, being founded in PA in the 19th century before becoming a Swiss watch brand, and was a primary provider of watches to the allied Navies. This chronograph has a NATO strap, traditionally more casual, but the watch's sleek design and color combination make it a rare example that can be dressed up. Currently 50% off.
Ted Baker Quartz Analog Watch
If $300 is still too rich for your blood, for $60 you get a handsome minimalist watch with stylish details.
Astoria Leather Jacket
The perfect lovechild of a bomber jacket and moto jacket in soft lamb leather – now half price.
Selvedge Slim Jeans
Slim-fit Thompson Suit Jacket
Sharp suits don't have to be expensive. this subtle gray windowpane shows you know what you're doing sartorially without unnecessary flash.
Waiting to pull the trigger on the styles from our last Getup? Now's your chance.
Nylon Snap-Front Shirt Jacket
Super lightweight will make this easy to carry around during the shoulder season, and I love the dusty gray-brown color – it'd look rugged with dark blue denim and urban with black jeans.
Chest Stripe Sweater Hoodie
Upgrade your graphic hoodie.
Vintage Soft Crewneck Sweatshirt
Muted pastels are an easy way to introduce color in another otherwise neutral wardrobe without feeling like you're wearing neon.
Easy Taper Jeans
Yep, light denim is a great option these days. But to avoid looking like a dad circa 1998, make sure it's a modern slim, tapered fit. Here's how to wear it.
