It’s admirable when celebrities donate their time to a meaningful cause.
It’s even cooler when those celebrities are Will Ferrell and Joel McHale, and they use their donated time to say what we’re all thinking about modern art.
The results: hilarious.
Here at Primer Magazine we’re big supporters of the arts, both ancient and contemporary. Art is thought-provoking, frequently transporting, and (often) pleasing to look at.
Spending an afternoon in your local art museum – even if you don’t understand everything you’re looking at – provides the opportunity to look at things from someone else’s perspective. It’s a skill that can feel sorely needed nowadays.
And then … there’s dirty socks carefully arranged on a gallery floor.
Or a row of old telephone poles painstakingly installed by penniless MFA students.
Or a self-slamming piano.
Is that… art?
McHale put his finger on it when he says, “Staring at them for a long time with other people kind of makes it art.”
