Andrew – just wanted to say, I’m LOVING this get-up week. Get-ups have to be my favorite posts to read on Primer!

Awesome! So glad you’re enjoying it. I hope to make it seasonal.

Totally hope this happens. The get ups are how I found primer, and it’s why I keep coming back. Everything else is just gravy.

Dude, this getup thing you have going is awesome. Been coming to this site since it first went up and I’m excited for this. But with that being said what is everyone’s take.on white pants? I just don’t think I could rock it. I’m a burly rugby player and 1) I don’t think I could fit my legs I to half of these pants and 2) I just feel like white pants are girly?

Yeah I hear you…white pants can feel a little tough to pull off. But just like anything, if you dig it, just rock it!

I know what you mean. i bought a pair of pants that were featured on one of the getups and i couldn’t get them halfway up my legs. LandsEnd has made some solid straight fit pairs that taper below the knee but are still made for guys who do squats.

Yeah it’s tough, I try to mix up the “level” of slimness in the items I choose since everyone’s body is different.

I like white pants for men but, apparently I have not mastered the fine art of how NOT to stain them within 8 minutes of leaving the house. I’m assuming you could do a gray or maybe a light khaki?

gray or khaki would both look great here as well, good call.

White pants aren’t allowed before Memorial Day and after Labor Day

As I mentioned in the post, nobody listens to those archaic rules anymore. Free the white pants!

Mission belts are amazing! If they made some with less flashy, more formal buckles they would be the only belts I ever wore.

White pants = an advanced move. Don’t start your style upgrade with it. Ease into it. Great outfit once again, Andrew

Hi Andrew, really enjoy the posts, just thought I’d suggest something. If possible posting a pic of someone wearing the getups would help me visual how to put it all together. Thanks!

      Hey Drew,

I like doing that when I can, but if we limited the Getups to my own closet, it’d get old really quickly. 🙂

Sounds like someone needs to pitch the idea to some clothing companies do they can get you free stuff on condition they’re in a get up. I’m sure it generates tons of sales for them.

Obviously you don’t live in the South … my wife would KILL me if I wear white after Labor Day.

These pants are so comfortable and look great. Real good quality for price. Thanks for recommending this outfit.

The Get-Ups are the perfect format to gather a visual and financial idea of your total look with freedom to add your personal flair. I’d be lost without it.

I have a similar outfit, but the chinos are darker and the jacket is forest green. Tell me, what would you recommend as a color for the shirt? Same color as shown here, or different?
