The Diplomat Cocktail Recipe: A Rich, Herbal Vermouth Cocktail

The Diplomat Cocktail Recipe: A Rich, Herbal Vermouth Cocktail
This is an awesome drink if you want to learn to love vermouth.

I ran across this recipe in Dinah Sanders’s The Art of the Shim, which is a great book on low-alcohol cocktails. Featuring two fortified wines and only a quarter ounce of any alcohol over 20% (and nothing over 35%), it’s the kind of drink you can sip at your leisure without worrying it’ll knock you on your rear end.

This is an awesome drink if you want to learn to love vermouth. It’s rich and delicious, fruity and herbal, and even comes in a small portion size so you don’t have to drink a vat of it at once. Give it a shot!

This article is a modified and enhanced version of a post that ran on my nightly cocktail blog, DrinkShouts. Liquors in parentheses are what I used when I made this recipe, and are included as suggestions.
