The Getup: Back from the Future

Today is the day Marty McFly went to the future, and surprisingly, Marty’s style wasn’t way off. We celebrate the world’s second time traveler with a modern Getup inspired by his look but isn’t a costume.

    thumbs up!

  • Martin Calder

This is nice, but no man should know too much about his future.

Thanks for the heads up! I looked but couldn’t find where it was streaming.

You forgot the suspenders/braces! Seriously, I have worn this Getup. It’s really warm and comfortable for a Northern California day (I think that’s where Hill Valley is?).

Cool write-up. Really like the outfit

Although to be fair, his outfit was from 1985. The clothes the others were wearing were the odd ball things.
I’m in my early 40’s and I’d still wear most of this outfit though. Not the apple watch or the sneakers though.

I was decked out in my Marty costume yesterday. Managed to see two Deloreans yesterday.

“surprisingly, Marty’s style wasn’t way off.”

The big question…was the world being subconsciously led to this style through 30 years of waiting for this day?

How is this supposed to be a layered? The long sleeve under the puffer vest, the T-shirt under the long sleeve? The T shirt alone under the denim jacket?

      Yep, the first way!

This is awesome Andrew. I love the twist on the typical Getup post. This and the Jaws looks are really a nice change of pace theme for the Getups! Would love to see more iconic film costumes features in today’s styles! Keep up the good work!
