I am very proud and excited to announce Primer’s first co-sponsored event. This week we’ve teamed up with the fine folks at Combatant Gentlemen to throw a Pop-up shop in New York’s meatpacking district. Swing by this week to enjoy menswear, cocktails, good conversation and gentlemanly reverie.

What is a pop-up shop?

Pop up shops are short-term retail spaces for brands to not only show off and sell new or limited collections, but they also have a social aspect like cocktail parties, tastings, or having a barber provide haircuts and shaves. These types of shops are especially popular with customers of online retailers since it gives them a hands-on opportunity to check out a brand’s collection.

New to Combatant Gentlemen? You won’t be for long. If you dig Primer’s mission of providing options for affordable style, you’ll love Combatant Gentlemen. Pick up a slim fit suit for just $200. Or American-made slim-straight selvedge denim for just $70. Skeptical of the quality for items so cheap? I don’t blame you, but Combatant Gentlemen isn’t just focused on price: They pride themselves on being the first sheep-to-closet menswear company in the world. What does that mean? CG literally owns their own flock of sheep, 67 to be exact, which are sheared 4 to 6 times per year by one shepherd. The wool is spun into fine thread, woven into fabric and sent off to the company’s factory for production. You think an off-the-rack suit from Macy’s can sport the same? No way.

We’ve got some exciting stuff planned too: A whiskey tasting with Caskers Thursday evening. Craft beer tasting with Sixpoint Brewery on Monday. And a whole lot more. (Planning a wedding?
