Love this get up I like the lands end shoes.

  • Ben

You can buy a cotton web belt virtually identical to the J.Crew one for just a couple of bucks from any Army Navy store. I wear my dad’s from his days in the USMC and it’s a great belt for casual wear (machine washable with a removable buckle, too).

    Ben,

That’s a great tip! I actually looked for one similar to what you’re talking about on Amazon, but I couldn’t find one I liked. Army Navy stores are great for belts, jackets, shirts, and boots. Thanks!

  • Curt

Can’t we all agree that no one over the age of 20 should be buying anything at American Eagle?

    • http://www.primermagazine.com Andrew

Haha Curt, I certainly agree if it’s got a giant eagle on it or something. But for chinos and jeans, it’s a great place if you know what you’re looking for. The jeans regularly go on sale for $29, and if you go for a dark wash that doesn’t have any distressing or whiskers, they’re awesome. I have several pairs.

I wasn’t certain they were still available, but even as recently as 10 or 15 years ago you could find reasonable cotton shirts there. I still have a few standard plaids and flannels from both there and *gasp* even Abercrombie and Fitch. You likely wouldn’t notice if you didn’t take the time to read the tag.

  • Matt

Going to have to disagree with you on that Curt. Especially with pants that you can’t tell who makes them.
However, I will agree with you for the Hollister T-shirts worn by anyone over 25. And wait for it…. Affliction foil print anything. Someone needs to say it.

  • Chris C

Why is it that the shirt and half-zip are different prices on the merchant sites and the graphic? Am I missing something?

    I love the look though!

  • http://www.primermagazine.com Andrew

Hey Chris, sorry about that, they may have changed or I may have punched them in wrong. They’re updated.

Also, you can get pretty much the same knit tie from the tie bar except the ones from the tie bar are only $15 and they’re knitted silk.
