Buying cologne these days is an annoying process. Do you buy a scent that you like? Or do you buy a scent you think the woman in your life will like? Do you buy something classically masculine and run the risk of smelling like your grandfather? Or do you buy something modern and feel like you’ve rubbed lemon peels and rose oil on your neck?
It shouldn’t be this hard, and it doesn’t have to be this way. That’s what led a small group of entrepreneurial friends in Dallas to start their own brand of cologne. The promise? A scent as masculine as it is modern. Classic but not out of style.
And they hit the nail on the head.
The smell reminds me of gin and leather, which satisfies our masculine requirement, with a sweetness that feels modern without smelling flowery. It provides a consistent ambience but isn’t overpowering.
The small business story behind the brand is just as exciting as the product. Co-founder Matt Moore recently wrote a case study for Art of Manliness on their first year of being in business, and it is a fascinating portrait for anyone thinking of starting their own small business. The cologne is hand-bottled by the three founders, how cool is that?
